I am British nurse and moving to Mauritius for a year in December with my boyfriend. We have Mauritian friends who we are staying with. I am a qualified Mental Health Nurse and am seeking employment in the psychiatric services in Mauritus. I have researched the Brown Sequard Hospital at Beau Bassin and would like to work here, as well as any private mental health services on the island. If anyone has any information that may help me, or any contacts, I would be most grateful.

Hi

Nice to know about your interest to work in Mauritius .This message is neither to put you off but it's just to give you a brief outline of how nursing is in Mauritius .Being a british nurse , it will be very difficultfor you to adapt yourself to the Mauritian way of nursing.I'm a Mauritian trained dialysis nurse but am working in London . No need to say more .Guess!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

I moved to Mauritius last year and I am a trained general and psychiatric nurse (UK) I think you will find it almost impossible to get a job here, and if you do, (agency work) you might earn about Rs15000 (300 pounds) if you are lucky.

I am a qualified RMN and RGN and looking at POSSIBLY relocating to Mauritius with my fiancee who is a solicitor.

Can anyone tell me if it is financially viable to work there as a nurse.
