English-speaking Third Grade Teacher Needed for Private StudentAn experienced freelance 3rd grade teacher is sought for a unique private teaching situation in the Mexico City area, beginning in September 2009 and continuing through May/June 2010. The position will consist of planning and teaching all (U.S.) 3rd grade subjects to a privately-educated student. Classes will be held in English and will take place at the student's home during daytime hours, scheduled by mutual agreement between the teacher and the student's family. The ideal candidate must: - Be fluent in English and able to teach all standard U.S. 3rd grade subjects in English. - Have verifiable experience in teaching 3rd grade, and a flexible daytime schedule. - Be experienced in, or familiar with, the US school system. - Be comfortable planning lessons and assessments using a U.S. curriculum guide. The family will travel frequently during the school year. Although the teacher will not be required to travel with them, when planning lessons for the year, he or she will need to take into account periods during which the student will be away.
