Adventure Travel ExperienceWhat type of job are you looking for? My skills and interests are leading me to find an adventure travel position, as that is my passion! If there is a way to combine animal care, that would be perfect. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English fluently, and Spanish a bit... can understand most, and converse lightly. What State are you looking to work in and why? Michigan -- for some reason, I feel drawn to the Upper Peninsula..... for the beauty. Am hoping to find a cabin on the water in the woods for me & my 2 fluffy cats. What field do you currently work in? I have just finished creating and working in 3 small chocolate shops (consecutively). It has been wonderful to make people happy with my fresh, hand-dipped sweets! Hands-on experiences teach so much.. and you actually accomplish something that also helps others. Describe the benefits of working with others The interaction brings together more ideas and skills for any accomplishment. It is exciting to get to learn from others as you share your own ideas. I like the socialness of group or team work. Describe the benefits of working alone Sometimes more can be accomplished without interruptions. I love the challenges of figuring things out on my own, and/or creating - finishing full projects. One can focus more intently on what is being done. What was your worst working experience? Being hired as an accounting assistant. I was given many "clean-up the records" duties to start... and never got a chance to show what I could do, as none of the training was complete. I got blamed for not doing a good job when I wasn't given all the information to do so. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? There will always be difficulties with people in any position; it is how those difficulties are dealt with that will make the difference. One needs to be strong in knowing their own abilities and skills. What unique skills do you have? I am a natural organizer - constantly, and know how to re-prioritize quickly if needed. Am good at fast-paced, multitasking. I also pay great attention to detail, as every bit is important. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A position combining encouraging people to travel (the greatest education, I believe), and animals. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Learning from other cultures about different ways of living, eating, surviving, playing... I love travel, and want to fly again. Animals give so much - and feed my soul. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? animal cage/environment cleaning. travel can be exhausting why me? I am a very hard worker, and wish to use as many of my skills to their fullest. Always want to learn and grow and share - both experiences and different fields.
