Hairdresser looking for job in Curacao! What type of job are you looking for? I am a licensed cosmetologist looking for a hairdressing job in Curacao. What nationality are you? I am Caucasian, American Born What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English, I can understand and speak some french What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Im looking to work in the Caribbean.. mainly Curacao. This may sound very funny, but i recently met a guy in Montana who works in Curacao. I want to move down there to be with him, I also have always wanted to live somewhere tropical. The snow in montana is driving me crazy! What countries have you worked in? the united states What field do you currently work in? Cosmetology What fields have you worked in before? waitressing, dance instructor, sales associate, cosmetologist. What qualifications do you hold? over 2,000 hours of training, one and a half years in the work force. lots of advanced education Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe that in order to have and maintain skills, you need a good formal education. so I consider a formal education more valuable Describe the benefits of working with others the benefit of working with others it that you have other individuals to bounce your ideas off of, and you can learn from them, since everyone comes from a different background and schooling Describe the benefits of working alone when working alone you get the chance to complete tasks the way you see fit, and build your business how you think it should be What was your worst working experience? a Russian man visiting montana came into my salon for a haircut. the whole time i cut his hair he was insulting me and saying how I knew nothing about hair. He was also saying being racist words towards my mexican boss. It took a lot of patience dealing with a client like that. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? the most important lesson that i have learned is that hard work pays off. working ling hours and going days without a break doesn't sound like the greatest time, but when you are just starting out in your career you need to dedicate 100% of yourself What unique skills do you have? I have a great ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Its easy for me to find things i have in common with clients, which makes them feel comfortable. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is exactly what im looking for with this interview! I see the next move in my career to be working in the Caribbean, hopefully at a tourist destination What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I think its amazing to be part of a career where I get to physically touch people in a positive way. I feel good about myself when i make people feel good about themselves. its a very rewarding career What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I think the least interesting part of being a cosmetologist is how we stand on our feet all day long. thats why i like to switch my day up.
