Software Consultant /Business AnalystWhat type of job are you looking for? I am seeking a software consultant/Business Analyst job. A position within an IT/Business oriented project. What nationality are you? I am a British National. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English - Advanced Urdu - Moderate Arabic - Basic French - GCSE What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am seeking to work in Morocco, preferabally Casablanca. The reason for this is because my wife is of Moroccon nationality and we wish to settle within Morocco. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in England and Spain What countries do you have a visa to work in? I am British citizen so I can work in Europe. What field do you currently work in? I am currently working within the financial sector whereby, deploying IT solutions for Insurance companies. What fields have you worked in before? I have full development lifecycle working on projects within the Banking industry, Insurance and Internet Technology. What qualifications do you hold? I have a BSc Computer Science (hons) degree Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? For me both have equal value as you have to learn the skill before you can apply it. However, what is important is for individual to be given the opportunity to apply the skills. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others allows projects many benefits: - Work could be easily ditributed such that indivuduals skills can be mathced to appropriate area of the projects. For example someone who is stronger in programming can be involved during the development stage. - Also ideas can be shared; experience can be shared so that younger individuals can learn and develop from a more experienced member of the team. - Workload can be shared Describe the benefits of working alone Benefits of working alone are as such: - You can tailor objectives to your own requirements - Concentrations can be higher - you can learn more as all the responsibility is given to you - Working on your own allows you full control of the given area. What was your worst working experience? I have never had a worst working experience of such; however I have had working surprises whereupon I was sent to Spain by Accenture to work for Zurich Financials to technically design its latest software product(Zurich Connect). When i was in Spain(Barcelona) the release that I was meant to be working on had a 1 month delay. In result they had temporarily placed me on Release 1 whereby they had me involved with JAVA programming. Previously I had experience in programming in C++, VB6 and C#. However, I had never got involved or had learnt Java programming; as well as it being programmed in spanish to further add to the complexity of the problem. Within a matter of days after picking up text books online I had picked up basics of JAVA and was competent of doing the tasks that were given to me. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The above example of my career has taught me to strive work hard and you will succeed. I have never given up in anything I have done and as a result I have always been a likeable member of any team I get involved with. What unique skills do you have? I possess the follwong technical skills C++, Visual Basic, SQL, Java, Active Server Pages (ASP, Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML),COM/ MAPI and Visio. UML. I have been professionally trained in the following areas Application Testing School, Packaged Application Design School, Custom Application Design School, C# .Net and Microsoft Sharepoint. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I would consider project management as my goal in life What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Within Software consulting it provides flexibility whereby there isn't repetitive work. Every project has new objective. Every stage has new technique. This allows the individual to always learn new technologies and gain furtehr experience. Gaining new skills, I find this apsect of my profession very appealing. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
