To learn the Moroccan and Muslim cultures would be very educational and helpful to me in my quest for Islam. What countries have you worked in? USA only What countries do you have a visa to work in? USA, but I am sure I can get one for Morocco What field do you currently work in? Retail, Customer Service What fields have you worked in before? Call Center, Retail Management, Customer Service, Hospitality, Clerical What qualifications do you hold? I have graduated from high school and I've been to a medical assisting school but I never had the opportunity to capitalize on that education due to family priorities at the time. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have over 30 years in customer service related occupations including: cashier, bartender/manager, call center rep, store manager, mall hostess. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Although I believe both are very valuable I would have to say skills because some things you can't learn in a classroom, you have to experience it to learn to deal with any given situation. Describe the benefits of working with others The camaraderie of a team is a great way to bond with and learn from others. Describe the benefits of working alone I work well with minimal supervision and can focus more intently on a specific task. I adapt well to most situations. What was your worst working experience? Too many layoffs due to lack of work. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? It's not me people are angry with when they call to get help for something; it's the situation that made them have to call me. What unique skills do you have? I'm very customer savvy, in that I always answer the phone with a smile and greet people in person the same way. I'm very aware of how my voice and attitude affects people on the phones and in person so I am always cheerful and seem to know how to calm them and help them. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A place where my opinion is considered important and not just blown off, where I can have different challenges to solve everyday, where I can have a future. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Right now, meeting people from all over the world and helping them to have a good time and find the things they are looking for. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? not enough job security. Are you innovative? Yes, At a previous company, I suggested the use of dual headphones so new trainees could hear both sides of the conversations being held, which increased productivity of the new employees by 30%. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I suggested an improvement to major networking site in August 2007; to have a link back to a persons inbox once they block someone. Previously you had to travel all over the site to get back to the inbox. They sent me an email saying they liked the idea and it was implemented.
