Describe the benefits of working alone You are not exploited, you recieve respect, you are not threatened, no one tells you what to do and how, where and when, nobody fires you without paying you a cent. What was your worst working experience? I have been working with an American company operating in fresh blue fin tuna in Morocco as a translator and assistant. This company is called Global Network Development corp. I have had a contract or exactly a Service Agreement paper, signed by the company's Managing Director, Mr. Mark Bartosh. This papers was also double-signed and checked by the urban authorities of Mehdya, Kenitra in Morocco. My services towards this company actually started since March 15th, 2009 via e-mail and phone correspondence. I have also met Mr. Mark and Mr. Craig Goddley in Rabat where I explained to the former that it is the first time I deal with a contract and that I am not a resident of Kenitra city, thus I will be obliged to travel to my job destination. I was introduced to Mr. Mark by his partner Jonathan Ho, a Chinese with an American nationality. I met Jonathan Ho and his brother Jay Ho, called Vic, in Mamora Hotel in Kenitra and he agreed to pay me 5000 Moroccan Dirhams per month, plus my travel expenses as I do not live in this city Kenitra. I officially started working with this company from April, 4th as a translator. I also assisted them into their negociations partnership with a Moroccan company called Les Madragues du Sud on establishing tuna business. Negociations took more than a week then the business settled down. I kept working for more than a month, staying sometimes till it's late by night, recieving offense, belittlement, interference with personal behaviour and plenty other things I need time to mention. At the end, summingly, when my monthly payment term ended, I asked about my salary and travel expenses. The Managing Director simply fired me by telling me: "We no more need you, we have found an 'interpretor' who lives in kenitra, you can go home." When I asked politely about my payment, Mr. Mark refused to give me cent claiming that he had already spent too much expenses on phone card credits he gave to me in order to contact them and translate to them via phone during off-time duty and on sundays, as well as expenses on coffee pauses and some lunch. When I told him Mr. we have a paper between us, he denied that document and told me that in his country I will be in need of an an attorney if I am going to be paid. When I asked about the reason of firing me and his refusal for payment, Mr. Mark told me: "You were driving my fork lift, (it is under my Service Agreement contract to provide whatever kind of assistance, even hand work and driving such engines with which I am experienced and which belong to my field of work as a farmer.) you were talking to the moroccan workers and security guard and other stuff from the Moroccan company." I was fired without being paid, and that was all. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The fact that some business man have no ethics.
