Public Health JobWhat type of job are you looking for? I am a public health doctor in the top category (senior) with skills in epidemiology and biostatistics, more then 30 years of experience (health centers management, and all the activities of a public health doctor). I wold like to enroll in a project of public health in Mozambique. What nationality are you? I am portuguese What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Portuguese, English, French, fluent What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Mozambique or any other country in Africa, preferentially from the Portuguese Africa. I wold like to enroll in a program of public health interest, and eventually teach epidemiology and biostatistics ina medical school or nurse scholl What countries have you worked in? Medical doctor; PG in biostatistics; i am in the last year of a MD i Epidemiology Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both; you cannot be a good doctor without formal education, but experience is paramount in our work. Describe the benefits of working with others Is it possible to be a doctor, and a public health doctor alone? A good public health doctor is a leader of a team, not a alone man. Describe the benefits of working alone the only benefit i see is to avoid the vanity of certain people that think is a must, and sometimes.... What was your worst working experience? The last 2 years in Portugal. Nothing is done, everything is made on the knees, and the country become a mess. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? You must have a target and fight for it, but only with loyalty. What unique skills do you have? I donīt know if they are unique, but my knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistic that i have got along all these years. And certainly my capacity of adaption and my good mood. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Teach epidemiolgy and biostatistics at a university level, and lead a investigation team in the land What are the most interesting aspects of your field? We can help people, and countries to fix the many health problems they have. We are the general practitioners of the populations. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
