sociologyWhat type of job are you looking for? I am basically looking for sociology related jobs, preferablly in an NGO or in administration, public relations. I am searching for any type of social work. What nationality are you? I am a zimbabwean. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I can speak fluent english and shona. I can also speak a bit of portuguese, I am still learning. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am currently looking for work in Mozambique,Inhambane because this is where i live at the moment. What countries have you worked in? I have only worked in Zimbabwe previously, for about three years. What countries do you have a visa to work in? None at the moment except my home coutry but i am working on getting a work visa in Mozambique very soon. What field do you currently work in? I am currently unemployed. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in office administration, financial administration and also in NGO research work. What qualifications do you hold? I hold a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology and Gender Development. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think both are a vital necessity because one has to be formally educated in a particular area in order to understand it fully. Skills are also valuable because if one has education but no skills he or she will have difficulties in handling a particular post within an organisation. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other people is an advantage because when people work together they acheive more as a team. There is also the aspect of helping each other giving each other positive ideas and learning from each other which is vital for the proper functioning of any organisation. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone also has its advantages in that if too many people work on a certain project there is bound to be misuderstandings thorough conflicting ideas,thus working alone would be a guarantee of no conflicts within the work place hence productivity. What was your worst working experience? My worst experience was a slight misuderstanding with a customer whose bags got stolen within ours premisses,our company was not liable but had to replace the stolen bags in order to maintain a good reputation and good customer relations. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that working with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds is not all that easy and one has to find ways of dealing with different situations. What unique skills do you have? The most unique aspect about me is that i take pride in what i do nomatter what it is, i am also a very keen and fast learner who thrives on challenges and am quite good with public or customer relations. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be any job where i get to help people like the under privileged and vulnerable children. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? It is a very broad field so it doesnt limit my job options to a particular area and it mainly deals with people and society which is very interesting. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The least intresting aspect would be having to deal with some people who are difficult due to certain curcumstances. Can you briefly describe yourself and how you could be an assset to an organisation I am a highly motivated team player who loves challenges. I am also a fast learner and am willing to develop myself further within my area and also take my organisation to greater heights.
