Currently, am I working as Senior Programme Officer for a NGO which carries out Rural Development activities, funded by a Germany Agency and other entities Under this organization, my tasks are related to the following: identifying internal partnerships as well as assessing sources of resources for the organization, ensuring a set of project proposals to be funded by the organization and its associates, manage communication and analyse quantitative and qualitative data of the programme, programme, manage and provide technical support on impact assessment studies, assist senior programme personnel on development and implementation of the programmes, design, plan and prepare financial proposals of rural or community development project as well as preparing operations plans and manage monthly planning of activities. What fields have you worked in before? My experience includes the practical use of the life cycle tool kit programs in development projects. Also had specific experience in designing and managing community programs covered by the directive of the rural development programs. As a coordinator and manager I had the responsibility of managing and supervising my staff in charge of the programs we were implemented in the field. Was my part of job establishing performance standard in close relation with my staff job description and the annual program plan and the monitoring were done by submitting their work plan and reports on the previous period activities. What qualifications do you hold? I have a superior studies in Human and Social Sciences (History) from Eduardo Mondlane University. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think the two learning systems are valuable to me because one complements the other, the skills get us growing closer to reality in which we intend to work while the formal education gives tools that help us fit the reality of what we intend to implement Listen Read phonetically Dictionary Describe the benefits of working with others The benefits of working with others, are among others the following: maximum use of the talents of each, maximum creativity at the service of the project, greater motivation to achieve the goals; decentralization of power that results in higher individual responsibility, greater speed in implementation, so higher productivity, the possibility of enriching exchange of experiences and roles; complementary functions, new approaches and solutions to old problems, like the tasks to accomplish. Describe the benefits of working alone In terms of focus and concentration can have a total auto-run, individual earnings, that is, you get all those benefits, in terms of creativity we have ideas agree, there is more objectivity and the responsibility is individual and the work ends being a little fast because no plans outside of what was intended to implement What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? that everything is done within a program track should be done according to the same and if I have to change any thing, I must regard to the various assumptions / risks and also by the SWOT analysis for not compromising the overall objective of the program What unique skills do you have? • Capacity to elaborate manage and evaluate socio economic projects; What would you consider as your 'dream job'? coordinate and manage large NGOs What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Help vulnerable communities to achieve an acceptable standard of living through what are their own plans, conceptions and ways of seeing things.
