I currenly hold a National Executive Diploma in Secretaril Studies, whihc i obtained from one of the local colleges in Swaziland. I am also studying towards a Bachelor of Business Studies, doing my first year with the Mangement College of South Africa (MANCOSA). I have a vast experience as a PA as i have worked for a number of big organizations in my home country Swaziland. My current duties include, but not limited to: - provide comprehensive administrative and clerical activites to meet the need of the Managing Director. -typing minutes, agendas, reports, letter etc for the MD - What nationality are you? I am a Swazi citizen, currently living and working in Swaziland. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak fluent Siswati (which is a bit similar to siShangaan)and English languages. I took a course on the Fundamentals Portugeues lanugage and I can read it and speak it a little bit. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I would love to work in Mozambique and work in Maputo. What countries have you worked in? Just only Swaziland. What countries do you have a visa to work in? None. First time applicant. What field do you currently work in? I am currently working in the manufacturing industry (pulp and paper) as a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of Sappi Usutu Pulp Company. What fields have you worked in before? I got the opportunity to work with HIV/AIDS at some point in my career. What qualifications do you hold? I hold a National Executive Diploma in Secretarial Studies which I obtained in the year 1999 Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I condider them both equally valuable. Inorder to break even in most industries you have to have the formal education, which forms the basis of your career and then the skills you acquire as you go along with your career will help you develop very fast, be more productive in your work, efficient know exactly what you are doing for your personal benefit and the benefit of your employer. Describe the benefits of working with others - working as a team makes your work to be fun. - working as a team makes your work life easy to handle and more efficient for productive results. - you get to acquire skills that you would learn from your co-workers that you didnt have, simple by working together with them - it is beneficial for personal development because people are dynamic and diverse at the same time, thus giving you the chance to learn more of other things about yourself, your work and develop your career. - no man is an island. we all need each other for work to run smoothly. Describe the benefits of working alone - you concentrate more on what you are doing, thus become productive. - you know that you are soley accountable for your work. if anything goes wrong you will be able to easily rectify it without pushing the blame on anyone or anyone pushing the blame on you. - What was your worst working experience? Working with children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS pandemic. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? - Giving 100% to your work will get you a 100% satisfactory results. - Mistakes do happen, stand accountable to them and you will not do the same mistake twice. - Its not how you do your work that is extremely important, its achieving the desired end product. What unique skills do you have? - I pay attention to detail - I am a perfectionist - I can work under pressure (I work even better when under pressure) - I am a very confidential person when it comes to my work What would you consider as your 'dream job'? To be a Business Manager and having a number of people reporting to me, be their leader and mentor. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? - Being the right hand "man" for the boss - Being able to run the office as effient as when it is run by the boss. - Being able to keep everything that is classified as "confidential" just that, confidential. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? - people not appreciating the hard work you put to make life easier for them.
