GIS Specialist

Your role will be to establish and maintain a Corporate GIS system, providing essential support and back up to the rest of the project team.

With a degree (or equivalent) in Geography, Geographic Information or a relevant subject, you will have a working background in GIS, and a thorough knowledge of using the ESRI ArcGIS 9.1 desktop suite. Your sound IT skills will be combined with accuracy and a flexible and adaptable nature. We are looking for an individual who has the willingness to build on their existing knowledge and learn new skills related to the mining industry.

A geological background will be an advantage but not essential. A sound knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation CAD packages will be an advantage.

I am interested in this offer because I do similar job in japan. I have more than 15 years of ESRI products experiences and 10 years of MicroStation. I have national certificate for both Land Survey and IT Systems Engineer.

I am looking for a job in Mozambique because one of my family member now works in the country.

Venho pela presente mostrar o meu interesse na posição existente para especialista em Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG) para a empresa Riversdale Mozambique Limitada.

Desde 1991 que me tornei utilizador e programador de SIG, tendo vários trabalhos publicados, nomeadamente os disponíveis no seguinte no site da ESRI.

Tenho também conhecimento de AUTOCAD MAP, bem como de toda uma nova geração de programas de SIG de código aberto (MAPWINDOWS, SAGA GIS, GRASS GIS, etc.).

Tenho um grau académico em engenharia silvícola, pelo Instituto Superior de Agronomia de Portugal, falo e escrevo fluentemento o idioma Inglês.

I am holder of French GIS/Land Surveyor BTS (Advanced vocational training certificate), with an 18 years experience as a land surveyor and GIS officer, including 2 in Mozambique and 2 in Brazil: field survey, GPS, GIS, cartography, remote sensing.

Currently Quality control team Manager, fluent in English and Portuguese, open-minded on upgrading my knowledge and working in a new context.

I was assistant of GIS and Remote Sensing at Eduardo Mondlane University for two (2) years).

Now I'm interested to occupy this vacancy and face new challenges.
