Telecommunications jobs mainly microwave and Data communications.

What nationality are you?

Malawian male aged 33 years of age.I hold 11 years experience working for Malawi Telecomms Limited as Radio Engineer for 8 years and 3 years as a Senior Data Engineer to date.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Iam fluent speaker of English and Nyanja language.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Mozambique,Botswana,Namibia,Angola,Kenya and the rest of Africa

What countries have you worked in?

South Africa as an Electronic Lecture for 6 weeks at West Gauteng College-George Tabor Campus and Malawi as a RF Engineer and Senior Data Engineer for Malawi Telecoms Limited for 11 years.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have no visa to work for any country.

What field do you currently work in?

Telecommunications Engineering and Data communications

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching

What qualifications do you hold?

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Malawi; City and Guilds Diploma in Telecomms and Iam currently persuing Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Studies with University of Malawi.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider both because without formal training one can not get proper skills and at the same time qualifications without proper skills are almost useless.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The benefits one gets with working with others is that of team work and you are to solve problems without hussles if you put heads together.

Describe the benefits of working alone

The benefit of working alone is that you do no get disruptions.

What was your worst working experience?

MY worst working experience was the time when my bosses did not support me with my proposal to purchase a spare part for VSAT equipment.The working one developed a fault and we lost revenue because of prolonged outage.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Team work is very important in every organization and any suggestion from any member should be taken into consideration.

What unique skills do you have?

C++ programming ,Visual Basic,waveguide and 2mbps terminations,configuring ip routers,computer hardware maintenance,configuring and troubleshooting of data nodes and frame relays and installations and configuring wireless radios.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Any Telecomm job would be suitable.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

It becomes interesting when you provide service to customer and becomes happy.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

When you fail to provide services to customers.When also you fail to rectify a problems in time so that becomes annoyed.

why do you think you are the right candidate?

I hope iam the right candidate based on my vast experience in microwave telecomm enginering as well as Data communication.

Prior to my present post of Senior Data Engineer, Data Department used a range of faults emanating from lack of skills in IT and my coming reduced burden that was there .The number of faults reduced drastically because i trained a number og guys in fault troubleshooting and also procuring spares in time.
