Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills are more valuable than formal education because skills are acquired in the process of accomplishing a job and give exposure and experience to all possible outcomes in the working environment. Formal education does give the basis of understanding but is limited in equipping a person to ensure a job done.

Describe the benefits of working with others

It allows sharing of ideas and experiences, and in many cases makes the process of trouble shooting and problem solving faster when several brains are brought together for a common cause.

Describe the benefits of working alone

It allows focus on the work at hand.

What was your worst working experience?

Working in an environment with a shortage of equipment exacerbated by lack commitment from the project coordinator.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

That skills are acquired in the job not only through formal education particularly with wildlife management, to be always prepared by researching before embarking on the project activity. To treat workmates with respect and dignity.

What unique skills do you have?

I am self motivated.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

To establish a veterinary clinic and work as a wildlife veterinarian specialising on a diversity of species and cases.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The wonder of nature whether flora or fauna, there is always something amazing to be discovered when working with wildlife.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Watching an animal suffer from ill health or poor treatment.

What makes you tick?

Life, nature the beauty of mother earth, the diversity of human kind, and the fact that even with our differences in culture, geographic location, race and interest all human beings want to be loved, acknowledged and respected.
