Namibian What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Afrikaans - very good English - very good German - understand, but don't speak well What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Namibia, because I love my own country. What countries have you worked in? South Africa and Namibia What countries do you have a visa to work in? None. Only Namibia What field do you currently work in? Manager of a B & B of a South African Safari Company What fields have you worked in before? Teacher for a long time. Manager of a Hotel in the Kalahari Manager of a Bakery in the east of Namibia Chef, house keeper and manager on a hunting farm/ranch NOW: Manager of a South African Safari Company's B&B What qualifications do you hold? Grade 12 4 year Higher Education Diploma Chef training coarse done by one of the BEST Chefs coming from South Africa. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills, because when you have that you can get further in life. There is always the possibility to learn more and through your own skills it will be easier. You can live out your skills through everything that you do practically. Formal Education is good, but then the practical side must still come to the front and you must have it into you to show through that which skills you have. Describe the benefits of working with others Share new ideas, get new ideas. The solving of a problem is easier with more than one head thinking. Learn through other peoples examples that they set. Describe the benefits of working alone Your own ideas are implemented. That's not really my idea of working, because when you're become lonely it is sometimes frustrating. What was your worst working experience? To work for a year and then apply for your own position to become a permanent worker and then don't get the job because of affirmative action!! What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Be yourself, give yourself, be honest and don't put important work aside for another day....DO IT NOW! What unique skills do you have? Skills to decorate, plan own meals, gardenplanning and the skill to work with any kind of person. It doesn't matter from which nationality they are. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? To be somebody!! I don't want to be only one of the "furniture" of the place, but to appreciate me for what I do and am. To treat me with respect and pay me as good as possible for all that I do, because I'm giving my best only. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meet new people. To satisfy guests, see that they appreciate the food and enjoy every meal that you prepare. To live on a ranch, farm or a lodge - away from all noise in a town or city. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Waiting for hunters to arrive from hunting to have a meal.
