Dont need a Visa What field do you currently work in? I am a Freelance Guide at the moment What fields have you worked in before? I have work as a tour guide, tour guide trainer, as an operations manager for a travel company, travel consultant and a marketing agent in travel in fairs internationally in countries like Switzerland(Roadshow), Finland(Finish Travel Show), Germany(ITB), South Africa(INDABA) and England(NETWORK NAMIBIA.I ahave a very extented knowledge in Namibian tourism and has been a guide in Namibia for the last 10 years. What qualifications do you hold? I have a badge 1 in tour guiding and 10 years experience as a field guide. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I would say both as they compliment each other. You need the formal education to be able to understand the certain subjects and then the skill to complete the project. Describe the benefits of working with others You learn a lot from others a lot. So for me its very important to work with others. You build more confidence in yourself and also build a very good people's skills and also improve a lot on your communication skills. Describe the benefits of working alone You can create and improve a lot on your self confidence and more do the things your way. You have a lot of chances of implimenting your own strategies and also build the trust in yourself as well as handle the preasure. What was your worst working experience? To work as a secury guard for our village school during my school holidays. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To be honest and be yourself. This can take you everywhere. What unique skills do you have? I am very good communicater and have a very excellent people's skills. It's really in me and I can work well with people. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Being a field guide. It is not really a job for it's more like a way of life for me and I enjoy it very much. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meet different people from different corners of the world. To exchange the traditions, ways of living, customs I mean to be able to interact at all time. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Driving long distances.
