Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?
For the jobs that I am looking for I value my skills and experience highly, especially with communicating with my clients and colleagues as making people feel comfortable and safe whilst under your care is of the utmost importance with any healthcare role. However without a good educational background some of the more complicated tasks would be more difficult and my education enables me to better understand any situation.
Describe the benefits of working with others
I have worked alone for some part of my last job as I had my own clients however I have always worked as part of a team with all the roles that I have worked in. If there is a task to be done within any profession there is a need for delegation and a good skill mix to enable us to use each persons skills and experience to an optimum level. I have found that in my experience of teamwork everyone is valuable and supports each other. Also working with others in general is a rewarding experience.
Describe the benefits of working alone
I personally enjoy being self motivated and like to organise my days work in priority order at the beginning of each day. I like to know that I can rely on myself to complete tasks and not leave anything unfinished if I can help it. Working alone can give you a sense of achievement different from that of working with others. It also gives you confidence and improves self initiative.
What was your worst working experience?
I worked in a factory style environment for a while and did not enjoy the monotony of the tasks that I was set.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
The most important lesson that I have learned throughout my working experience is that there is always something to learn and improve upon every day. Everybody that you work with be it clients or colleagues all have something to share.
What unique skills do you have?
I am compassionate and as such have empathy both with my clients and colleagues and believe it helps the day run more smoothly if I use this skill to make those around me feel more comfortable and help out if someone is having a bad day. I also have a good awareness of what is going on in my environment and tend to notice any hazards or risks.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
My dream job would be to work in a clinical environment perhaps in a foreign country where I could put my complementary therapy skills and passion to good use. (It is a dream as most hospitals do not use complementary therapies!)
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
Every day is different and so much is to be gained by working in a social capacity. I love learning about each individual and hoe they have come to be the person who they are. I also have a vested interest in the human body and how it works and find Biology and Medicine fascinating.
Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?
This is a hard question however in my previous work I have found repetitive tasks the least interesting for example washing the medicine cups and folding surgical gowns.
Will you be an asset to us?
Yes. I work hard and make sure I do not leave anything unfinished if possible. I am loyal and trustworthy and love working in the field so will have a smile for anyone. I am very friendly and hopefully this will help others feel comfortable when working with me.
How can potential employers contact you?
The best way to contact me at the moment is by e-mail which I check everyday.
