LOOKING FOR WORKWhat type of job are you looking for? Despite having a mixed background that includes, office administrative, theatre, security, chains of restaurants, fine dining restaurants (2AA rosette), i`m willing to relocate to Amsterdam to work in the restaurant business. What nationality are you? I`m Portuguese, born in Lisbon! What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Obviously i speak Portuguese, Fluent English (written and spoken), spanish (roughly), in thye overall all languages that have Latin as it`s base are easy for my ear to catch. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I have some preference for Amsterdam, but i`m willing to accept any job anywhere. What countries have you worked in? Portugal and the UK What countries do you have a visa to work in? None. What field do you currently work in? I have been working in restaurants for quite a long time now. What fields have you worked in before? Administration, security, theatre (stage crew), Bars, clubs, Ship, restaurants! What qualifications do you hold? I`ve got an Administrative technical-professional level 2 degree, Safety and survival course on board of vessels, Haccp knowledge, complaint handling course, Wine training. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? - I believe the skills that an individual achieves throughout his life time are more valuable than the formal education because what is taught at school isn`t quite the true, it works more as a programming scheme for people to be ready to face the competitive society we all live in. Describe the benefits of working with others - The diferences in the dinamics required to work as a team rather than as an individual are big, as an individual you must focus on your own actions and working as a team requires that you rely on other people`s skills and habilities in order for the end result to be achieved. What was your worst working experience? - In fact it was one of the worst but on the other hand one of the gratest challenges i`ve faced so far; working for P&O North Sea Ferries as a Steward working 17 hours straight shifts for 3 months without day off! That must have been the worst i remember! But the adversities made me stronger! What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? - Humility. What unique skills do you have? - I`m a very well cultured person, very reserved as well as polite, my presence and the standards of service i aim for are the highest. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? - Anything related with helping others, not just pretending as most humanitarian corrupt organizations that are in the poorest countries to rip `em off even more, giving lectures about subjects that MOST people are unaware of.
