| I am the Executive Director of a US based NGO providing midwifery traini8ng to indigenous midwives in Central America. I have worked clinically since 1975 as a midwife attending births in all practice settings (home, hospital, birth center) and provided full scope women's health care as a midwife both in the USA and also Guatemala, and India. My skills are: cirriculum development, skills training as well as full scope OB/GYN care within the scope of a US trained midwife with a masters degree. I would like to find a position that would enable me to work in Holland for one year. |
| Does anyone know if an American Registered Nurse can practice nursing in the Netherlands? If so, what's the process to be able to do so? What's the doctor-nurse relationship like? And the patient-nurse ratio? Any American nurses out there working in the NL :-)? Is there a language and culture immersion program sponsored by the government that someone can take prior to joining the workforce? And most importantly, what's the pay scale like? I'm from Northern California where the salaries are pretty competitive and comfortable. My Dutch language skills is very minimal at this time. Not a popular language to learn in the US unfortunately but I'm up for a challenge. Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide any information.
