Seasonal Work in EindhovenWhat type of job are you looking for? I am very open minded in my seeking of employment and therefore, would not categorise the exact type job I am looking for, but preferably, a job in a social setting. I have previous experience in bar and restaurant work which would give me a distinct advantage in this area. What nationality are you? I am Irish. Any Irish bars looking to add some more Irish to their workforce: I'm the man. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English, Irish, French and am interested in learning Dutch. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking for opportunities in Eindhoven and its direct surroundings. This is due to having family in Eindhoven with whom I could live. What countries have you worked in? I've worked at home in Ireland and in Hungary. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Due to EU membership, I am free to work throughout the European Union. What field do you currently work in? I am currently a student planning to travel so I fall into the category of unemployed. What fields have you worked in before? I hold Irish Leaving Certificate qualifications. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider the application of formal education to allow one's skills to bloom. The correct balance of both education and skill are necessary for one to achieve their full potential. Describe the benefits of working with others Two pairs of hands work a lot better than one pair of hand. Also working with others in a foreign country allows one to network and find themselves meeting new people and working more efficiently with the aid of others. Describe the benefits of working alone When working alone, one can set their own expectations and their own standards and do the job in the way which they find most comfortable. Working alone also cuts out possible distractions which one may encounter while working as part of a group. What was your worst working experience? My worst experience was working in a sports clothing outlet during the ferocious after-Christmas sales. The constant influx of customers helped me in learning to effectively multi-task and work well as part of a group. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have become more and more able to work as part of a team which is a valuable lesson to learn early in one's career. What unique skills do you have? I'm incredibly approachable to everybody. I could hold up a conversation in an empty room. My openness allows customers across the board to feel comfortable in my company. At the end of the day, the customers are the reason your employed, and the effective satisfaction of the customers is vital. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A 'dream job' gives me the impression of longevity, however, as a student, a 'dream job' for me would be getting the opportunity to seasonally work in a social, vibrant environment where i get to meet new people and enjoy my work. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Again, as a student, the interesting aspects of my field are the opportunities to travel during the summer months, as well as continuously learning about new countries and cultures on a daily basis. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? There aren't many negative aspects of student life, apart from the repetitiveness of it. When working, especially abroad, day to day life becomes different and unpredictable and incredibly enjoyable. Why consider me for employment? The answers given for this type of question are often quite similar, but I feel I have something unique I can offer potential employers. My love for socialising, meeting new people and my approachability make me the ideal candidate for positions within bars, restaurants, shops, cafes, etc and I can bring some Irish flair to any workplace.
