Factory and contracts management in wear resistant ceramics ; Fibreglass. Develop management in the design and manufacture of alumium framed sliding windows for the transport industry. (busses, ldv's and trains)

mechanical draughtsman grade 12 schooling National technical cert 5.
Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?
both. formal education gives the bassis, while skills gives the experience and subsequent "growth"

team work will allways give the best results as per the saying that 2 heads are better than one.

from the previous answer above "alone time" is also important as it allows quiet thinking time which also often gets the solutions to questions. Also it allowsone to list questions for later team resolutions.
What was your worst working experience?
some 30 years ago I was promoted to factory manager in a factory manufacturing thermocouples. (a component used, was platinum...very expensive). While learning the work very quickly and attaining best production figures within 3 months of the promotion, I incurred a very large loss due to a simple error of not checking the production procedures. This did teach me to check, check and check again.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
Never assume and always check and re-check.
What unique skills do you have?
The ability to work with others The ability to often find solutions to a problem.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
To be able to be involved with a team creating a product and seeing the design through to its final production and successful testing.
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
Seeing something come to life from "the drawing board"
Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?
the administration part. e.g. certain paper requirements and relative accounting aspects.
