| Morning Star : Vincent Licata Tribute by Anna Fisher Photos of Anna Fisher's from her journey to St. John, United States Virgin Islands. Her dream when recording this song was to one day return. These images were her vision from a cabin in the rainforest where she created the idea upon hearing Vincent "Chen" Licata's vocal version of this song on Bob Riley's Christian Radio Show. Fisher loved the song so much she rearranged it with oboe and played the lines over the vocalists tracks. Chen and Bob Riley were a Godsend. Fisher recorded this after packing up almost everything she and her two children ages 11 and 3 1/2 owned and headed for a cooperative living situation while scouting for teaching jobs. In a month she had her own place at 333 S. New Hampshire Blvd. it was a blessing! Five years later upon completion of her Masters Degree in Teaching with a focus on Leadership, they bought a home again in Fall 1998. Some of the ending tracks of oboe were following the voice and some were totally free improvisation based on what i would hear my mentor Wayne Shorter transmit. Later discovered Hubert Laws the best flutist I've ever known personally, had recorded "Morning Star" as well. (different music) When performing lot, one gets the very best artists they possibly can. Some tunes are original some tributes and musicians have a phenomenal amount of learning of chords to make it sound consistent with the recordings especially when a new album is released. Cannot perform this ending by myself but know enough oboists in my scope X;b>...X;/b> |
