Qualifications Nvq It Practitioners BTEC First Diploma IT Practioners (general) Whilst in education i was Employed for a Highschool called FredLongworth, During the time that I worked at Fred Longworth High School I learned many of the basic skills required to maintain and manage a large network of systems in a business environment. As a part of this process I also learned how to work within a team of technicians, and this in turn improved my time management skills. Most of the tasks that I was assigned were time critical. Some examples of the tasks that I was responsible for undertaking include: Diagnosing hardware problems and then effecting any repairs that were necessary to ensure the networks stability i.e. replacing faulty hardware, upgrading drivers etc. Ensuring that the network stations had access to the appropriate software applications that their users might need access to. Where necessary I have installed drivers for the Operating System in use, and have been exposed to working within the W98, NT4, W2K and XP Pro environment(s). I was encouraged to use the resources available to retrieve patches and apply them as needed to resolve issues following consultation with the other IT support staff. I used Norton Ghost Enterprise Edition to create system images, and also was involved in multiple cloning of IT suites using those images. In addition I took part in an exercise to refresh over 100 workstations with the latest multimedia players and also resolved issues concerning transport streams. I supported users on operating systems and software including MS Office and Paint shop Pro. I also handled queries relating to network printers, and users network accounts and resources. I completed a number of day-to-day housekeeping and administrative tasks that have included the disposal of old equipment, cataloguing of CDs and also set up of laptops.
