I am preferably looking for a job within hospitality such as bar work or waitressing, but I am more than happy to try my hand at anything What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak Fluent English, and basic french What State are you looking to work in and why? New York - I have friends who live in New York City and so I would have somewhere to live out there while I was working. However the most important thing for me is to get a job, so I am hapy to go anywhere in the USA that I am needed. What field do you currently work in? I work as Management in Hospitality (Hotels) What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in administration, all areas of hotels and hospitality and sales (face to face and phone) What qualifications do you hold? I hold 11 GCSE's graded A*-B and 5 A-Levels graded A-C, I completed one year at University which I passed in Broadcast Journalism. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe skills are alot more important that formal education as this is where you can really see how intellgient somebody is. Just because someone has good qualifications, it does not mean that they will succeed in the work place. I have worked within hotels for 3 and a half years, with no previous qualifications in this area. However with hard work and dedication I very quickly worked my way up to Management and have been there ever since-I learnt everything on the job. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others helps to improve your own skills, as you can see how others do things and learn from them, just as they can learn from you also. Working with others makes you a well rounded person, it gives you better people skills and can encourage you to always improve your own skills. Describe the benefits of working alone Sometimes working alone can be beneficial as there are no distractions and you can acheive things, and try new things which maybe you would not if others were around you. What was your worst working experience? For legal reasons I can not list all details. But it was when I was 19 and I was Duty Manager of a 70 Bedroom Hotel-a party for 16 year olds was gate crashed, and went extremely wrong. Police were invloved but everything was resolved. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Always listen to adivce people give you, ask for help if you need it and learn from your mistakes. What unique skills do you have? I am first aid trained, as well as health and safety and fire trained. I have the ability to pick up skills very quickly, and to see what changes need to be made and to turn things around into positives. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job which I will one day make happen is to have my own bar/restaurant. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The people i work with, and the different people we get through the door each day. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? There is nothing which i specifically do not enjoy.
