Data Entry Clerk / Computer EncoderWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job wherein I can utilize my effectiveness and skill in typing. My typing speed is 60wpm. I am good at numbers and math, I believe I am very effective also in doing computations like payroll, fees, etc. What nationality are you? I am from Philippines. I am a Filipino What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Aside from my native language, I can speak English but not very fluent since this is not my native language. To mention, I worked outside the Philippines for almost 8 years and during those years, I can say that it helped a lot in English speaking and broadened my vocabulary. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I wanted to work in Canada or New Zealand. Canada because I realize that I can take my wife and children after 2 years. New Zealand because I found in an article that New Zealand is on top rank in terms of peaceful living and very less crime. I hope I can also take my family in New Zealand. What countries have you worked in? I worked almost 6 years in Saudi Arabia as Computer Operator / Admin Asst. (in giant petrochemical companies like Petromin, Samarec & Aramco), and almost 2 years in Dubai, UAE (as Project Secretary / Document Controller). What countries do you have a visa to work in? I do not have any visa right now and I am not connected with any company right now. If I would travel again, I wish it will be to Canada or New Zealand. I am very much ready to be hired anytime. What field do you currently work in? My previous work in Dubai, UAE was Project Secretary / Document Controller. Back home to Philippines last 4th of August 2009 (3 months back). What fields have you worked in before? In Saudi Arabia, I worked as Computer Operator doing data entry work at first. I was promoted to Admin Asst job later on at Aramco. But before I travelled overseas, I have years of experience locally as Data Entry Operator. What qualifications do you hold? I am well versed with using Windows / MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint but most especialy Excel... i enjoy doing large spreadsheets with links, macros and formulations, it's very mathematics and I really enjoy a job that has a touch of math. Email and web browsing, that's easy. I can handle plenty of office machines. I can handle correspondence, can take dictation. Document management or document control. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? As to my experience, I consider skills as more valuable that formal education. I haven't finished my college, started working locally until I decided to go abroad. Applying abroad is tough, too much applicant trying to win 3 or 5 posts, you have to pass tests and it's really a competition, but I always end up getting the job and beat those who have college diplomas. Though other people looked at you differently when you have a college diploma. Nowadays I believe more employers looked after the skills rather than a piece of document but zero skill. Describe the benefits of working with others Well, if you worked with others it will enhance your communication skill and will build up a relation wherein you will learn a lot from different heads. Whether good or bad, you'll learn from it, and it's up to me on which end I will be taking. Describe the benefits of working alone I am more focused with my work if I am working alone, less mistake with higher quality output. Too much disturbanced slows down the work and at times, causes errors that leads to zero quality. What was your worst working experience? When I was tasked to attend the weekly meeting with all the managers and jot down the minutes. It is not easy to do it most specially if most of the terminologies being used are beyond your learning. Imagine an accountant listening to a bunch of engineers talking about the progress and problems of a huge building/tower construction. That's tough, but I managed to do it for almost 18 months with the help of a digital recorder and wordweb. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Love your job; value your income; avoid overspending; thrift... thrift... & thrift. Save for the future. What unique skills do you have? As mentioned earlier, I can type up to 60wpm... they use to call me a blind typist because I can handle the keyboard without looking at it. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Well I think it is the job that offers a lot of benefits, a long term job that offers growth. If I will travel again to work abroad, I dreamed of a job wherein I can take my family with me after 1 or 2 years. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? When I was given other tasks. I find it very challenging and interesting. Like in Dubai, I was tasked to handle the monthly fee application submitted to the client on monthly basis. It's similar to payroll but here, I didn't just do the payroll but followup invoices and payments from clients and prepared PO's for payments to sub-consultants. The job involves millions in amount and they realized that I was effective doing it. As I've mentioned... I really enjoy task with the touch of math. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? That's when the time I was asked to do something but I cannot say No. Just like attending the meeting and do the minutes, you cannot say No to a boss and that's a fact. Are you willing for an immediate deployment to Canada or New Zealand? YES... YES... YES! How can potential employers contact you? Employers can reach me on my email address (aquil34@yaho.com) or at my mobile number +639182809074 or my home number +6322130616. |
