I am looking for a job as an assistant dentist or any job related to dentistry, preferable in Blenheim New Zealand where i reside. What nationality are you? I am a Filipino What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak our local language which is Tagalog and English (IELTS 7.5 rating)taken less than a year ago in Christchurh. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Iam currently residing in Blenheim, New Zealand and this is where i would like to work. What countries have you worked in? I have had more than 20 yrs private dental practice in the Philippines. I had a short stint working in a local pub in Karamea where we used to reside. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Philippines and New Zealand. What field do you currently work in? Iam not working at the moment and would like to get back to practicing my profession as a dentist/asst dentist. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked as a private dental practitioner. I also had a chance to work in call centers in the Philippines as customer service representative to various USA based banks. What qualifications do you hold? I have a degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider both as very valuable. Formal education with practising the skills is useless. Like wise, attaining some skills thru experience could be lacking both theoretically and basic knowledge. Describe the benefits of working with others Working in a group or with others help us practice our skills in dealing with people from all walks of life and from different educational levels thereby developing you as a better person and more versatile in all aspects. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone on the other hand can help develop a person's self judgement, give him/her more confidence and humility to accept mistakes an dlearn from them. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was when i did outbound calls to sell to people overseas. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Throught out my dental carreer i have learnt to be more refined with my dental skills, devote time for continuing dental education and maintain rapport with colleagues and patients alike. What unique skills do you have? I have been complimented for my dexterity, a trait not all dentists can have or develop. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to be a private dental practitioner attending to the dental needs of new zealanders especially those needing more attention as those people i have encountered in Karamea. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects would be dealing with patients as an individual. Help ease out the pain and at the same time establish rapport by building their trust and confidence to the dentist. Why would a dentist hire you in her clinic as an assistant to her? I believe i could be an asset to any existing dental clinic because i can work and can be trained as well accordingly. I can work as a dental clerk more efficiently compared to other non-dentist clerks for simple reason that i know exactly what the patients would be talking about or needing. I can also be a good assistant (preparing dental table/ handling instruments/mixing dental supplies,etc.) for obvious reasons. How can potential employers contact you?
