JOB TITLE 1: PHARMACY SUPERITENDENT

Summary of Post and Assigned Duties:

The successful applicant who will be accountable to the Executive Director will undertake the role of superintendent and assume all responsibilities associated with his position including supervision of medicine preparation and dispensing, overseeing the ordering and stock control of medicines, supervision of pharmacy technicians’ staff and efficient operation of the pharmacy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will:

1. Assume a proactive role in developing new health related services and ensuring that a very high standard of service is provided to all customers.

2. Ensure safe and effective pharmacotherapy and optimize therapeutic outcomes to customers.

3. Ensure safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications to all customers at wholesale levels.

4. Purchase pharmaceuticals, devices, and supplies according to an established purchasing program.

5. Control the inventory of medications, equipment and devices according to an established plan.

6. Promoting safe medication use in the society and promote pharmaco-vigilance.

7. Ensuring patient’s understanding/adherence to his or her treatment plan

8. Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and/or the public

9. Demonstrate knowledge and skills particular to generalist practice in the community care pharmacy practice.

10. Demonstrate additional competencies that contribute to working successfully in the healthcare environment

11. Provide medication and practice-related education/training to subordinates (pharmacy technicians)

12. Carry out other related duties as may be called upon by the management to perform from time to time.

Eligibility:

i. A degree in Pharmacy from a recognized University. ii. Such must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and possess a current license to practice. iii. A Diploma in Public Health or Health Administration is an added advantage. iv. Computer literacy is a must v. Such must be ready to reside in Akure metropolis and travel often within West Africa.

Experience and Key Competencies:

• Should have relevant professional experience in a busy dispensary environment with a diverse range people.

• Should be familiar with key regulations on pharmaco-vigilance both from PCN, PSN, NAFDAC and other interventions particularly in West Africa.

• Should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and be a relationship builder.

• Diplomatic, lobbying and networking skills, including knowledge of the differing political contexts within West Africa.

• Good time management skills, including the ability to work towards deadlines and work on several activities simultaneously and with a high degree of independence.

Job Title 2: INDUSTRIAL BIOCHEMISTS

Summary of position and duties:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Executive Director but shall work under the supervision of Superintending pharmacists shall carry out the Industrial development process and research into microbial cultures in order to produce commercially valuable products. He will also be responsible for monitoring production systems to ensure that quality control standards are maintained, such as is important for the expansion of our area of biotechnology. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 researching and developing new products using methods such as recombinant DNA techniques;

 testing and assessing the safety of new chemicals;

 selecting and genetically modifying microorganisms;

 developing new products;

 designing fermentation processes to optimize product yield and quality;

 monitoring production processes;

 maintaining parts of production processes such as fermentation systems;

 product separation and purification;

 developing the use of microbes as early warning sensors to detect pollution;

Eligibility: Applicants for this job must:

 Possess a Degree in Industrial Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University.

 Be registered or in the process of registering with the appropriate regulatory body .

 Be Computer literate.

 Be ready to reside in Akure metropolis and travel often within West Africa.

 Possess a valid ECOWAS/International passport

JOB TITLE 3: PHARMACY TECHNICIANS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be responsible/accountable to the Executive Director. She/he will work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Superintendent and performs the following functions.

i. Assist the pharmacist in collecting, organizing, and evaluating information for direct patient care, medication.

ii. Receive from the Pharmacist and screen prescription/medication orders for completeness and authenticity before released to customers.

iii. Assist the pharmacist in the distribution of medications and assuring the quality of all pharmaceutical services.

iv. Assist the pharmacist in the identification of patients who desire/require counselling to optimize the use of medications, equipment, and devices.

v. Initiate, verify, assist the Pharmacist in the adjudication of, and collect payment and/or initiate billing for pharmacy goods and services.

vi. Assist the pharmacist in monitoring the practice site and/or service area for compliance with federal, state, and local laws; regulations; and professional standards.

vii. Assist the pharmacist in preparing, storing, and distributing investigational medication products.

viii. Assist the pharmacist in the monitoring of medication therapy and preventing medication misadventures.

ix. Take personal responsibility for assisting the pharmacist in improving direct patient care.

x. Demonstrate ethical conduct in all job-related activities and maintain an image appropriate for the profession of pharmacy.

xi. Carry out other duties from time to time as may be directed by the Director.

Eligibility: Applicants for this job must:

 Possess a Diploma/Certificate in Pharmacy Technician from a recognized School of Health Technology or Health Training Institution.

 Be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and holds a current license to practice.

 Be Computer literate.

 Be ready to reside in Akure metropolis and travel often within West Africa.

 Possess a valid ECOWAS/International passport

Experience and Key Competencies:

JOB TITLE 4: ACCOUNTANTS

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent will be accountable to the Executive Director for the day to day activities. He/she will apply the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.

2. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.

3. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

4. Analyze and review income, expenditures as well as purchase and supply of googs and services.

5. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

6. Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

7. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.

8. Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.

9. Resolve accounting discrepancies.

10. Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.

11. Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.

12. Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.

13. Carry out other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the Director.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop the annual operating budget and consult with departmental management on the fiscal aspects of program planning, salary recommendations, and other administrative actions.

• Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff

Eligibility: Applicants for this job must:

 Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Studies or Economics.

 Have at least three to five years of accounting experience.

 Must be registered by a recognised Accounting Professional body in Nigeria

 Be Computer literate.

JOB TITLE 5: AUDITOR

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent will be accountable to the Executive Director for the day to day activities. The role entails team management, the planning and scoping of audits, and the identification of key risks and controls to be assessed. Furthermore, the preparation of the audit testing program and assessment of the adequacy of the design and operation of the controls associated with the key risks identified in the company is an element of the position. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Examines and analyzes accounting records to determine financial status of establishment and prepares financial reports concerning operating procedures.

2. Reviews data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.

3. Inspects items in books of original entry to determine if accepted accounting procedure was followed in recording transactions.

4. Counts cash on hand, inspects notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and cancelled checks.

5. Verifies journal and ledger entries of cash and check payments, purchases, expenses, and trial balances by examining and authenticating inventory items.

6. Prepares reports for management concerning scope of audit, financial conditions found, and source and application of funds.

7. Makes recommendations to the management regarding improving operations and financial position of company.

8. May examine company payroll and personnel records to determine appropriate recommendation for compensation or insurance benefits to workers.

Eligibility: Applicants for this job must:

 Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Studies or Economics.

 Have at least two to five years of auditing experience and aptitude to learn.

 Must be registered by a recognised Professional body in Nigeria

JOB TITLE 6: CASHIERS

JOB SUMMARY

Successful candidates will work under the direct supervision of the Accountant but shall hold an overall responsibility to the Director. They will handle customers' payments for both wholesale and retail goods and services. Issue cash refunds and credit slips to customers and employees. At the end of their shift, they must balance the amount of money they have taken in with the total sales recorded.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer customers' questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.

• Bag, box, wrap, or gift-wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for shipment.

• Compute and record totals of transactions.

• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.

• Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.

• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.

• Issue company trading stamps on all receipts.

• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.

• Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed appropriately.

• Process merchandise returns and exchanges.

• Receive payment by cash or automatic debits.

• Request information or assistance using paging systems.

• Resolve customer complaints.

• Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.

• Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices.

• Accept reservations or requests for take-out orders.

• Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales

• Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.

• Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.

• Post charges against guests' or patients' accounts.

• Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.

• Pay company bills by cash, vouchers, or cheques.

• Count money with the counting machine and reconcile bank statements.

• Assist the accountant to cash cheques, make bank deposits and process withdrawal request.

• Verifying the authenticity or genuineness of currency.

• Carry out other duties from time to time as may be directed by the Director.

Eligibility: Applicants for this job must:

 Possess a Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Studies, Economics or Marketing. Holders of National Diploma with adequate experience may be considered.

 High ability and aptitude to learn.

 Be Computer literate.

 Be ready to reside in Akure metropolis.

 Be ready to work occasionally at weekend and/or evening work

 Possess a valid ECOWAS/International Passport

 Be ready to travel within West Africa.

Experience and Key Competencies:

 Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and use of electronic scanners, counters, etc is compulsory.

 Ability to prepare an up-to-date financial reports and statements of goods and services.

 Willingness to work under a flexible schedule and minimum supervision.

Language Proficiency:

All applicants must have an excellent knowledge (spoken and written) of English Language and a working knowledge of the local languages would be an advantage.
