Teaching job

What nationality are you?

Nigerian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English and Yoruba (I speak and write both very fluently)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Nigeria. I am a Nigerian. But I don't mind working outside Nigeria, as long as the pay is good.

What countries have you worked in?

Nigeria only

None.

What field do you currently work in?

Teaching

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching

What qualifications do you hold?

BSc(Ed) (Mathematics) and MEd (Mathematics)

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills. Skills get the work done. Formal education gets you a certificate.

Describe the benefits of working with others

You learn more from their experiences. You get more work done in less time. Working with others can be more fulfilling. It kills boredom. Working with others at times is like doing in-service training.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone tends to improve one's concentration. Working alone fosters originality. It tends to encourage creativity. You tend to work harder since all the blame or praise comes to you only.

What was your worst working experience?

I don't have any. I always look on the bright side of things.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I've learnt that every organisation has its own peculiarities. And that what works in one place may not necessary work in another.

What unique skills do you have?

I love the teaching profession. I'm smart. I'm a natural problem solver. I have very good inter-personal and communication skills. I don't focus on people's faults but on their strengths.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

A teaching job that pays very well and offers an excellent working condition. A place where my potentials as a teacher is maximally utilized.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspect, to me, is observing the miracle of turning around the life of a youth through the careful inculcation of morals and believe in one's own abilities.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Lack of appreciation from parents can sometimes be a little bit disappointing.
