What qualifications do you hold? National Diploma at level 3 in Agriculture Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think its important to have skills because its all very well having a formal education but alot of the time you need skills more then the education. Alot of the time it comes down to experience and learning as you go on. Skills are also good because you are skilled in the areas you are interested in, rather then learning in areas you are not so keen. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others is good as you are part of a team in which you all help each other out in situations and scenario's. Also good to have others to talk to. Also from a health and safety point of view, working in a team is safe. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone is sometimes good because you can get on with your work without having distractions from others. What was your worst working experience? baling with a newholland sperry 940 series which was always going wrong, broken bale after broken bale. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? never stop learning and listen to what your told, because that way you cant go wrong. What unique skills do you have? Full clean UK driving license, PA1, PA2, PA4, PA6 pesticide applications. Forklift certificates including telescopic and industrial counter balance. Quad bike certificate, health & safety, vet med, and tractor driving competence certificate. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Combine driver working on a big arable farm, as well as cultivations after harvest. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? working very long hours during harvest. What made you go into the agriculture industry? All my life i have grown up on a small arable farm, have a genuine interest in the agriculture industry and love driving big kit, Love john deere tractors, cant beat them, i just love that life style.
