I am looking forward to working in Canada because I know that it's a beautiful place and that the people there are equally beautiful. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in hospitals in The Pilippines. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Philippines. What field do you currently work in? I worked for 2 years as a Staff Nurse in a provincial tertiary hospital. What fields have you worked in before? I have also worked as a Clinic Nurse for a year. What qualifications do you hold? I am a Registered Nurse in my country. I also have taken the IELTS and the results qualify me to work in countries such as Canada and the US Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider formal education and skills both very valuable in order to practise my profession. From the two, I believe that skills are more important because it is the basis of how much we know of what we do and the precision that is needed to perform our duties. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others gives us the opportunity to share our thoughts and felings. It gives us the chance to develop a bond, and cultivate friendship. You can learn how to depend on each other, learn the art of cooperation. You can, potentially, do less while achieving the same standard of work because the other teammates are there to help contribute to the goal as well, so it's not only you that's working hard for something. Other people also have other ways of doing things, and you can learn from their ways. Describe the benefits of working alone There are also many benefits of working individually. The first thing is that it makes you more independent. When you work alone, you have to solve your assignment by yourself and you can’t rely on anybody. The way you do , the method you use, or even the manner you present, these are all your work and you have to choose how better to do. This process gives you not only many experiences but also the confident to make your decisions in the future. Moreover, you can manage your time better when you work by yourself. You can do your work anytime that is best for you and you also don’t have to depend on others to have only an agreement. You can schedule your work includes your timetable and only follow your plan. That will save your time a lot. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience as a Nurse was when I was just starting as a Staff Nurse. It was during my first week when I was a little late to attend to our rounds for the shift. My Suoervisor was there and noticed that I came late and she humiliated me in front of my co-nurses without giving me a chance to explain. I apologized personally to my Supervisor and from then on, I never came late to work. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important thing that I've learned throughout my career is that being a nurse entails giving yourself, more than merely giving your time. You put your whole heart into taking care of patients and it is much more rewarding than just the salary. What unique skills do you have? I think that one unique skill I have is an emotional skill which is being patient. working as a nurse, I see people at their worst and also at their best. An effective nurse needs to be caring, understanding, non-judgmental, and have a strong ability to empathize with patients from all walks of life. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is one that entitles me to not just a big salary, but the opportunity to use the skills I have learned through the years of my career. My dream job is to be of service to people who are in need of care. I dream of being a Nurse in an institution where I am able to showcase what I can do to improve a life/lives of a person. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects of Nursing is the part where we get to interact and communicate with people from all walks of life. We get to witness how people live their lives and we play the part helping them improve or change their lives for the better. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Some of the least important aspects in my fiels is the part where we have to say goodbye to our patients. We sometimes become emotionally attached.
