Position working with animalsWhat type of job are you looking for? Seeking position working with/around animals. They have been a part of my life for over 40 yrs. I have an extreme amount of experience with large, small, farm, exotic animals. I have many cert. for emergency disaster care with animals. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English What State are you looking to work in and why? The Carolina's or Colorado. I dearly love these states and to live and work in one of them would be the ideal opportunity for me. What field do you currently work in? I have my Florida Real Estate License and I have been an office secretary for over 2 years. What fields have you worked in before? Shipping - worked for UPS for 14 years. Veterinary assistant - large and small animals Equine Specialist - over 30 years What qualifications do you hold? Florida Real Estate License Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both! You need and education for communicating with the public and to do a lot of jobs. Skills help you with the actual job. Describe the benefits of working with others I love to work with others in a group that works as a family. I do not like working with a group where there are a lot of "backslashing". I do not appreciate that type of atmosphere. Describe the benefits of working alone I love working alone. I can work at my own pace and it gives me the benefit of trying things on my own. I have worked alone most of my life and I really do prefer this because I am a "workaholic" and I really like setting my own pace. What was your worst working experience? Working for Charlotte County. I had to work with a group of men that were working until retirement and we would work for about 2 to 3 hours a day and then we would have to go hide somewhere for the next 8 to 9 hours. I did go to the supervisor - just to feel him out about the situation and the next day about six of the guys that I worked with, met me in the parking lot and I was told not to come back or I would be "sorry". What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To work hard and just do your job. What unique skills do you have? I have a special way with animals. I really love them and I guess it flows through to them, because I have been able to work with a lot of animals that no one else can. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? My honest and genuine love for animals.I love to see them come out of their shells and start trusting humans again. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? When I am working with an animal that has been so badly abused that it just will not trust a human,again. These animals have to be placed in special homes with special people that realize what they have. Please replace this with a question of your own Why is it almost impossible to find a position working with animals. I have been applying over the internet and through newspapers, etc. for over a year now and can not even get considered for an interview. I am very willing to relocate.
