Formed in 1933, TRH is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is licensed to care for patients in our 94-bed facility. Transylvania Community Hospital has a medical staff of over 40 active physicians and 80 courtesy and consulting physicians with a wide range of medical/surgical capabilities including Acute Care, Diabetes Education, WorkWell Occupational Health, Wound/Ostomy/ Continence Care, Labor and Delivery, Critical/Intensive Care, Outpatient Services, Rehabilitation Therapy, Home Health Care and Transitional care. Our basic mission is to assume a leadership role in organizing, collaborating, coordinating and providing a quality health care delivery system to serve the residents of Transylvania County and surrounding areas .
