What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for a job possibly in retail where English speakers are needed. I would accept any position where English speakers are needed.

What nationality are you?

I am American.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English is my native language and I am a fast learner. I have already learned basic conversational Arabic and am still learning.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking to work around Tunis because my husband, daughter and I are moving into our house in Borj Cedria In early to mid September.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

US and am looking into what I need to do to obtain a work permit in Tunisia.

What field do you currently work in?

I currently work in Customer Service.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have worked in Customer Service for the past 10 years, doing everything from serving to cashiering. I have worked in Administrative Assistance and am familiar with data entry, billing, invoicing, and acheduling.

What qualifications do you hold?

I have completed just 47 credit hours and am anticipating returning to complete my degree. I also will be attending Bourguiba upon my arrival in Tunisia.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I am going to have to go with skills. Any one can put anything on a piece of paper, it is possessing the ability, knowledge and experience that will get you by. I have not obtained my degree yet, but I possess many skills that allow me to be an asset to a company where I can offer my services.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others has pros and cons. Pros being that when you work with others you will find your self surrounded by a group of supporters there to encourage each other and work on a daunting project together. You help each other in completing necessary tasks.

Describe the benefits of working alone

When you work alone you have no distractions or interferrences. You may find it easier to focus when you are working alone and have no other people surrounding you.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst work experience would have to be working for a temp agency where I was sent to a factory.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I think this is a continued process. Thus far, I have learned about working together as a team. Learning how to work in a competative enviroment is essential to succeeding in this world. I believe I possess that skill.

What unique skills do you have?

I am a people person. I enjoy working with people. I am capable of working in a fast paced environment as well as disolving customer issues. I enjoy the challenge of working with people as each person is different. In addition to being a people person, I also am very proficient on the computer and can type approxamately 45 words a minute with 95% accuracy. Its not the greatest, but it is quite sufficient.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

I would love to be a translator working with people and helping them. I intend to persue this after I obtain my Proficiency certificate.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Dealing with the public, there is never a dull moment.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I understand that when you are working with the public, there are going to be complaints, but people tend to complain about things that can not be changed in the smallest detail.

Why do you think that employers in Tunis need to hire you?

I believe that any employer needing an English speaker would not be disappointed if I were given the opportunity to be an asset in the smooth day to day operation of the company! I can bring a lot of enthusiasm to a work place. I am a fast learner, and I catch on quick. Show me how to do something once or twice, and I'm good. I work well under pressure and love a face paced environment. You won't regret hiring me.
