| Yahoo! Answers: How long in jail does someone usually get for nonpayment of chil My daughters father was recently incarcerated for nonpayment of child support. He has several degrees and for some reason cannot find a job even though there is a big demand for things such as nursing which he has a degree in Registered Nursing and also as a social worker but some how could only manage to pay $66 a year out of the court ordered $444. After my complaining to North Dakota child support something was finally done although I was told that I would barely get a dime, he was picked up and put in jail. I would like to add that he skipped a court date because they were holding him in contempt for nonpayment then he signed an agreement to pay $444 + $89 a month, which he failed to pay. But overall I was just wondering how long someone would usually have to stay in jail for their first offense of nonpayment of child support. The court ordered $444 was per month. And that didn't count medical support. Which for sometime he was paying but then it all stopped. And I live in MN he was ordered to pay his regular monthly payments of $444 plus the $89 and I didn't even get a quarter of that. No one was released to jail him. That is ridiculous. Are you a father that refuses to pay child support? Or support dead beats? Rapists and child molestors shouldn't be given a jail cell their lives should be taken. It's their fault, they were dumb in the first place. Not to mention that this jerk thinks he can see his 7 yr old daughter 3 times her entire life and buy her one pair of shoes after I had to beg him and what he shouldn't pay for the actions he decides to make. He was already warned what would happen he got a get out of free jail card if he would pay something and decided he'd give the minimal amount despite the fact that he could make a lot more. |
