What type of job are you looking for?

Ideally, instructing in Higher Education or working in a Corporate Training/Learning/policy arena. I have experience in both secondary and tertiary teaching but also a considerable amount of practical, hands on experience in corporate training roles. I've found my educator skills highly portable to the corporate world and useful.

What nationality are you?

British and Canadian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English. some french

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Anywhere in the Gulf. Preference is Oman. Beautiful country and nice people.

What countries have you worked in?

Japan, Canada, USA, UK

What field do you currently work in?

Education and Training

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching, Management and Training

What qualifications do you hold?

B.A., M.A., PGCE, MEd. Studied in Ivy League and University of Cambridge

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both are important and should not be viewed in isolation. They are complementary. To some extent weighing the benefits also has to do with the task at hand.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Professional progression, teamwork, sense of community, comradery

Describe the benefits of working alone

Focus, independence, simplified decision making, individual preference, solitude

What was your worst working experience?

cleaning a barn as a teenager

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Hard work pays off and don't overreact

What unique skills do you have?

strong leadership skills, charisma, lateral and multidisciplinary thinker

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Leading a great team of creative people

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Coaching and mentoring others to develop and be the best they can be.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

In the wrong institution, Bureaucracy can lead to a lack of productivity

Lion- strong, majestic, family oriented
