In the research program for my B. Pharm degree, we developed cetirizine hydrochloride oral drops for infants. Cetirizine hydrochloride is an orally active and selective H1-receptor antagonist and used widely for the treatment of seasonal Allergic Rhinitis, Perennial Allergic Rhinitis and chronic urticaria. As per available information till date, the drug is marketed as Tablet and oral syrup dosage form for Paedriatic use, but not oral drop (1 mg / ml) 10% w/v concentration was developed for the infants. As such our present work was undertaken to design an oral drop formulation of the drug to cope up with the situation for the infant, mostly between 1-12 months. During designing of the vehicle, calculation of doses accuracy related to the age of the infant between 1-12 month and stability of the drug during its use.
