English Teacher looking for work in Oman

What type of job are you looking for?

I have been teaching English in a variety of school for the last 8 years. I have taught a variety of age groups as well. I would like to continue this career.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English (fluent), Hindi (Int), Spanish (Beg), Thai (Beg), Japanese (Beg), Indonesian (Beg)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking for work in Oman. I have heard it's lovely there and the people are very friendly. I have also heard it is not overdeveloped like some other countries in the Middle East. I really enjoy the culture and look forward to learning more about it.

What countries have you worked in?

USA, India, Nepal, Thailand, and Malaysia

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have had valid work visas in all countries that required it.

What field do you currently work in?

English teaching

What fields have you worked in before?

Music industry as a product demonstrator

What qualifications do you hold?

CELTA Certification AA in humanities MA in English Language Teaching - University of Nottingham

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider skills more valuable as they prove who can actually do the job in question. While the classroom is valuable, many of its ideas are theories that may not be applicable to the working world.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I enjoy working with others as it is an opportunity to explore additional ideas. Each of us in a group has something to contribute and that is very valuable.

Describe the benefits of working alone

It is easier to focus when you have a specific task at hand.

What was your worst working experience?

I haven't had many bad work experiences though washing dishes when I was 15 and still in school wasn't particularly enjoyable.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I would say working in Asia has taught be a lot of patience. You must wait a long time to get things done, but they will get done in the end.
