What countries have you worked in? I have experience in USA (6 years) and UAE (5 years). What field do you currently work in? I work as a Senior Operational Risk Officer and the Credit & Risk Systems Specialist at a bank in Dubai. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in Banking, IT & Engineering, Food and Construction industries. What qualifications do you hold? I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Business from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and I am PMP certified. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education provides you with a strong foundation in theoretical material and teaches you how to be a problem-solver. Whereas skills provide you with the tools and techniques to solve your real-world problems, and also to carry out your daily tasks. Describe the benefits of working with others A team means more brains to think, and hence better and faster solutions in most cases, as long as their is one team leader. Efficiency is also increased in a team. No one person knows everything, and hence a team is more complete in knowledge. Describe the benefits of working alone In a team you have to deal with various moods, attitudes and thinking, this could cause hindrances and deviate the team from the main focus, this is one problem you do not deal with when you work alone. What was your worst working experience? Working with people who do not care about the job, and yet want the credit. These sort of people do not care about solving teh problem, which is the most important thing for me. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Always have a backup plan What unique skills do you have? The ability to deal with IT and Business teams equally well. Experience from various types of jobs and industries. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? To be a leader in a technical firm What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Each implementation is unique; travelling around to different offices and giving presentations. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
