Panama - Expat Jobs

any job will do

What type of job are you looking for?

At the moment, I am looking for A job, period. What I would love to be doing is some type of sustainable living and community outreach program, from starting community gardens, to rain water harvesting, to alternative energies, and educating the people who live and work in the area (Casco Viejo). But as i said, at the moment, any job will do.

I was born in the US, but I am an earthling...from the world.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

english-expert spanish-beginner

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am currently living in Casco Viejo, Panama. I am looking for work here because I live here and I see so much of potential for creating an oasis of green living and a sustainable environment.

What countries have you worked in?

USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama

What field do you currently work in?

What qualifications do you hold?

no formal schooling...but plenty of life and hands on experience.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

skills. I believe that the best education is by doing. Formal education is about memorization of facts and statistics, and social networking. Life is the real school and itīs all there...for free.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others allows for different ideas and methods of getting something accomplished. Also, when cooperating with others, there is a sense of community or a conection with your co-workers as you are all working to acheive the final goal. Many times, the only way to solve problems are by working with others.

Describe the benefits of working alone

You donīt have differing ideas or disagreements on what others think is the best way to do something. You know that all the work that has been done is because of you and that in turn gives the worker a real feeling of accomplishment. Also, you know that any mistakes or errors are yours and yours alone. Noone to play the blame game with. I guess simply put, itīs taking responsability for your own actions.

What was your worst working experience?

roofing in Las Vegas in the middle of summer!!!

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Well, my career is life and trying to understand the world I live in. So I suppose the most important lesson I have learned is be flexible. Be able and willing to adapt to different situations. And that we are all so very similar.

What unique skills do you have?

I would say that thinking outside the box is one. Having the ability to look at something and think of ways to make it better. Also as a multidisciplinarian, I have knowledge of the way life is interconected and am not tied down by one way of thinking.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

working with Jacques Fresco.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most ineresting aspects of my field are following my dreams and desires. Also traveling and meeting people from all types of different walks of life and backrounds.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

People writing me off or not taking me seriously, because I donīt have a formal education is one of the most annoying sspects of what I do.

Please replace this with a question of your own

Do you think that what you are doing right now, for work, is a beniffit to society, and if so, how?
