moving to Panama

What type of job are you looking for?

I am willing to look at any type of managment job, as long as it is stimulating.

What nationality are you?

Born and raised in Canada

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Expert in spoken and written English, some Spanish and taking more lessons.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Latin America with Panama at the top of the list due to political and cultural reasons. Love Latin culture and woulkd love to have my children to grow up to be able to work and travel with ease between cultures. My wife is Latina.

What countries have you worked in?

Canada, travelled for work in USA, China and Cuba.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

At this point none.

What field do you currently work in?

General manager for a distribution/manufacturer in Canada. My main reponsibilities are in purchasing & sales.

What fields have you worked in before?

Retail management, building supplies and groceries.

What qualifications do you hold?

Honesty, perseverance & integrity. Though I have no University degrees I have been able to work my way to a high position in every company I have been privileged to work with.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills wether learned from school or experience can be of equal value but it is my experience that skills honed by experience are of more value.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The greatest benefit of working with others is that we can learn from each other, the old say "two heads are better than one" testifies to this truth. Interaction with others stimulates others to work longer at a job.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone gives one a chance to concentrate on the job.

What was your worst working experience?

I have never really had bad job experience, I usually have moved on from a job when I have felt that I need more of a challenge.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

The most important lesson I think I have learned is that everyone in the workplace has value no matter what job they are doing. I have heard pearls of wisdom come from those less valued at some companies.

What unique skills do you have?

I have been told that I am a person that "thinks outside the box". In all my of job experiences I have been the go to person when there is a time sensitive problem to be solved. I also have always had good rapport with people of ethnic backgrounds.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job would be one where I would be problem solving and the fruits of those labors would benefit many people, especially those that need a hand up.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Working with people of different cultural backgrounds. In my current job I deal with people from China, Korea, Vietnam, Israel, Mexico on a daily basis as well as those in Canada and the USA.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

There are none, it is a very interesting job.

Why should we hire you?

Besides experience & skills I have a high degree of integrity and honesty. I am extremely loyal as can be attested by my current employer who has survived several takeovers where my "having his back" has been key to him keeping his position as President. I am very motivated to do well with a young family to raise.

How can potential employers contact you?
