Owned and operated a very succesful retail store Designed and operated a very large camp ground and water use facility in Alberta Canada. Worked for 8 years as purchasing agent building refiners. H2S, US Coast Guard license and Advanced sales Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? A combination of the two. Field work is very important as well as a very good grasp of the technical side of the business. I have always been very good with the two but I do not hold any degrees. Describe the benefits of working with others I get along very well with people from all over the world. I am a very easy person to get along with and work with. I also make a very good person to work for. I tend to bring the best out in the people I work with Describe the benefits of working alone I have the ability to adapt very fast to the merits of a product and have a good talent for cold calling by phone and by drop in as well as for setting up product demos in board rooms and on work sites. I love the challenge of increasing sales What was your worst working experience? Working out side at an natural gas plant at 38 below zero for a month in northern Alberta in January. It was a plant turn around. I got frost bite on two toes, my ears, and both thumbs. Only bothers me when I am in cold weather today. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Learn every thing inside out regarding the product you are representing. Always listen to what your customer is requesting. Do not over sale. What unique skills do you have? I get along with every one I meet. I never talk back to my customers even if they yell in frustration. I always find a solution. I am very good at cold calling and lining up product meetings. I am also very good at closing the deal and looking after my accounts. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Managing a hotel chain pool decks and water sports for safety and efficiency. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? the ability to put every one at easy I am around. I have the ability to socialize with the wealthy as well as the oil patch workers. I am also very good at cold calling or talking to any one about any product. With my water sports business in PR I delt with customers from the supper rich to clients who signed their name with an X. In the oil patch in Alberta I deal with executives of very large oil and gas companies each and every day. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
