Looking for a job opportunity in Papua New Guinea

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for a job in the agricultural/plantation sector.

What nationality are you?

I am an Indian.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I am fluent ,both speaking and writing, in English,Bengali Hindi.I can speak fluently in Assamese,I can read the language ,but cannot write it.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking to work in Papua New Guinea and also in Africa .I feel these areas are ideal for my professional qualifications and experience.

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in India.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I do not have a visa to work in any country.I have a valid Indian passport.

What field do you currently work in?

I am currently working as Manager Development in the field of Agriculture and Primary education.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have worked in the tea estates,N.G.O. projects on agriculture,administrations in a computer institute and as a manager for the agricultural and landscaping project in a resort.

What qualifications do you hold?

I am a graduate in Agriculture - a four year technical degree course.I also hold an M.B.A. degree in H.R.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

In my opinion formal education enables an individual acquire the necessary skills needed to succeed not only in one's career but also in the various facets of life as well.Therefore i consider formal education more valuable.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The benefits of working with others are:access to cooperation & assistance,new ideas,the excitement of gelling in a group of diverse backgrounds and the prospect of making new friends.

Describe the benefits of working alone

The advantage of working alone are independence in taking work related decisions and work flexibility.

What was your worst working experience?

The devastation caused by the violent storm "Aila" in our city Kolkata in the month of may 2009.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

The most important lesson I learnt in my career is that there is no substitute to commitment and continuous learning.

What unique skills do you have?

Communication(written & verbal),adaptability, sensitivity to different cultures and the ability to motivate are some of my unique skill sets.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job would be an assignment which provides me a new challenge,an empowering environment where I am treated with dignity and am given a fair amount of autonomy.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspects of my field is the opportunity to be close to nature and discover its bounties,the fun of working with diverse individuals and the challenge of working as a team to achieve targets within set parameters.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The least interesting aspect of my job is liaising with the government officials and agencies.Sadly here in India the government officials - particularly those from the regulatory bodies - are not sensitive to the needs of the "end users".The long delays are too monotonous.

How do you describe yourself?

I am an individual who values commitment,team work,continuous learning,sensitivity to different cultures & the environment and optimistic about the future.
