Ideally the GIS role I am looking for would be in the mining and or mineral exploration sector. However If such a role is not available I would be interested in other psoitions. I would like to work there because I have had friends that have said it was a great place to work and a really good experience. I am quite bored working in Australia and would like a new challenge. Mineral exploration, Mining. What qualifications do you hold? Degree in GIS from UNISA. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills because formal training does not teach you everything you willl need to know about the chosen sector, experience is invaluable. What was your worst working experience? Sea sick for three days while working on a prawn trawler. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Be proffesional at all times. What unique skills do you have? Data collection, GPS surveying, Mapping and Editing Skills, Database Management, ....etc What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working on a rotation based roster in the mining sector in Papua New Guinea. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Giving meaningless data purpose and real world value.
