What countries do you have a visa to work in? Dubai. What field do you currently work in? Fast moving consumer goods. What fields have you worked in before? Plantations and food production. What qualifications do you hold? Graduate - B.Com Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both are important in the sense the formal education gives you a baser to build on and if that is not sound then its all the more difficult to acquire skills.Skills that are acquired on the job is priceless as it is first hand information and experience that one draws on in the future years. Describe the benefits of working with others You learn to function as a team which I think in any job is imperative. You learn to be a part of the team and also acquire the skills to become a good leader who can lead from the front. Describe the benefits of working alone You do not have other opinions that you are forced to consider at times.Any success or failure is directly your onus.Can afford to experiment.Efforts not to fail will reign supreme. What was your worst working experience? I have had many experiences of being assaulted with a chopping knife and locked up without food and water for 16 hours but I have never considered any of the experiences bad as I was young at that point of time and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges. I was most of the time deputed to sort out bad divisions in my Asst Manager days which I was extremely successful doing and that experience held me in good stead in the years ahed of the period. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? There is no substitute for honesty and hard work. this equation cannot fail and in my experience has never ever let anyone down!! What unique skills do you have? I am a team player and a good team leader who will lead from the front. My team always took pride in working with me . I am good at man management and have been able to exact the best work efforts from the staff and labor on the properties that I have worked on. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? In charge of around 3 large estates, being able to be up in the early morning and take in that crisp air that is not found anywhere else. Be able to implement better techniques in all the practices and be a good leader mentor and guide to the team that performs under the umberalla. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Plucking has always fascinated me and I have spent long hours correcting techniques which have had direct results in crop harvests, better health of the bushes and a real sense of achievement. There is nothing more exciting and pleasing than seeing a field in its prime and showing all the benefits of ideal plucking standards. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? There really is not much that I can think of because everything has its own glow. Depends on how you look at it.
