What qualifications do you hold?

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Neither is more valuable as formal education provides a grounding for evidence based practice and provides direction for future learning and practically learned skills. Those professions that are primarily based in practice also require study (whether by institution or by self) as there is always more to learn, better or different ways to apply skills and so forth.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others can provide encouragement with learning, debriefing, the opportunity to learn a wider array skills, the sense of belonging (team building) and even friendship. Working with others can make a job 'fun' if nothing else.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone offers the opportunity to set a pace that suits the individual, work in one's own style and to manage oneself. Working alone and in a team both have their advantages and disadvantages.

What was your worst working experience?

Working in sales selling a product I did not believe in. And, working for a poor manager who had no people skills.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Always push yourslef to learn and find ways to make it interesting. And, be a good people person at every opportunity.

What unique skills do you have?

I have worked in a multitude of industries thus have excelent interpersonal skills, am a Hypnotherapist, have great sales ability, can think laterally and critically, dont usually get flustered or panic, and am highly creative and spontaneous. Im also highly adaptable and learn quickly.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Writing manuscripts for publishing as I enjoy the creative licence. Second to that, I enjoyed working in IT and I also enjoy working with people.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

my current field of nursing.. seeing people change for the better as a result of something I have said or done. Similar with Hypnotherapy. IT: Being able to solve a problem or get a system operational again and prevent it from reoccuring.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I sometimes get bored easily so I need to continue my education whether it be formal, or by reading journals etc. In nursing and working with psych: working with the most highly agressive people in the state can be wearing on my nerves.

How do you keep yourself active

I keep my mind active by reading and writing, and then there is the research I do via the online Journal library. Physically I attend a Gym at least four times a week and do Les Mills programs, Resistance training and running on a treadmil. I also ride a bike when the weather and time allows. I think remaining active in mind and body is important. I also dont use drugs, very little alcohol, and use natural products that have little or no additive chemicals. Staying healthy is very important to me.

How can potential employers contact you?

Im contactable via email at mooreb@adam.com.au or via phone: +61 435600660
