What fields have you worked in before? I was a retail manager for The Foschini Group. A computer Facilitator for the Magistrates offices in South Africa. Microsoft Office User Specialist( Mous) Certification International Computers Drivers License( I.C.D.L) Certification Train the Trainer Specialist in Word and PowerPoint First Aid certification Fire fighting Certification Fight Attendants license Travel and tourism Certification Studying for my TEFL( Teaching English as a foreign language Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I personally consider both to be valuable. Formal education is of vital importance, the certification carries weight.It provides many more opportunities than an informal education. On the other hand,one can acquire skills in certain fields by working themselves from an entry level position to the top. Describe the benefits of working with others I enjoyed working with my co workers, because there is interaction on a social as well as professional level. You can learn a lot from people. Share ideas and enrich yourself with new information.Develop friendships. Describe the benefits of working alone Whilst flying I had the opportunity to work alone and with other crew members. Working alone for me, showed me my strengths and weaknesses. I learn't to depend on myself to get the job done. What was your worst working experience? A passenger dying on the aircraft. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learn't in my career as a flight attendant the importance of being honest, respectful,helpful, humble and to be attentive to the needs of people. To respect all cultures and religions. What unique skills do you have? Listening Skills. Acquired from both my jobs. Being able to communicate on all levels from infants to adults, professionals etc. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Firstly, I will know if it is my dream job,It will be the one that I wake up everyday with a smile. No complaints just happiness. It's not about the salary, it's about the people. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Well, being in aviation industry, I thoroughly enjoyed flying all over the world. Meeting people of diverse cultures and tasting different foods. Earning foreign currency. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Being away from family and friends for birthdays, holidays etc. Flying long hours.
