Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Professional Regulation Commission Board Passer for Accountants 2008 Has worked for two years in the field of Accountancy for the Philippine government as a Budget Officer in Department of Transportation and Communications Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider formal education more valuable than skills because one can develop his own skills from learning through formal education. Another reason is that it is in formal education where you can learn legalities and ethics of the profession you're into which is very important in working for companies and with other people. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other people means working with diff. special skills which will make a better development and improvement in the institution you're working for. You can learn things from other people and the same time they can learn from you. With this there will be both a career growth and a personal growth. Describe the benefits of working alone In working alone, a person can easily express his own thoughts, ideas and skills within legalities without being distracted by other people who are in contrast your ideas. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Since I worked in a huge institution, I learned to adjust to different types of people with diff. personalities, attitudes, and educational background. And also through the working experience I had, I learned that not all things should be depended on trainings. There will be and there is always a room for making things easier that are not taught by other people. What unique skills do you have? I can work with very minimal supervision and can easily pick up instructions. I usually find my own ways of making things easier yet getting the same result with the usual/traditional way. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A successful accountant or a tax specialist in the USA. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? being an accountant will require an attitude of "professional skepticism" which is for me there will always be an element of surprise in everything we will do. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Personally, I love my profession so for me there is no boring or dull aspects in my field (Accounting). How do you handle stress? I pause and relax for a while...Then retrace my actions that causes the problem/s. With that, I can go back and do things in a better way and eventually resolve the problem the caused the stress.
