Government School Nurse?What type of job are you looking for? I'm waiting to be hired as a public school nurse. I've been working as a staff nurse at a government medical center, and now I have decided to settle down as school nurse. I am currently taking up the program Master of Arts in Nursing offered by the Mindanao State University Main Campus. What nationality are you? I am a Filipina, specifically Visayan. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I can speak English, Tagalog, Visayan, Ilonngo, and Maranao. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I wish to work anywhere in the Philippines. But it would be my pleasure if I would assigned within Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City, or elsewhere around Lanao del Norte and Misamis Oriental. What countries have you worked in? I have only my job in the Philippines. What field do you currently work in? I work as an alternate supervisor in a private ward since December 2010 to 2011. Way back then, I was a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse for almost 3 years. What fields have you worked in before? I was once a call center agent in Otigas Center, Pasig City on February to August 2007. What qualifications do you hold? I am a registered nurse as I passed the nursing board exam on December 2006. I am currently a student of Master of Arts in Nursing program and at the same time, a government nurse alternate supervisor. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education is much significant than skill. To set myself an example,I became professional after I conferred the degree of BS Nursing, became licensed and hospital nurse. Then there, I developed my skills, became competent, and promoted somehow.It is then that I call myself a skilled professional. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others complete one's lack, gives more ideas, makes an heavy load an easy one, and does a goal reached successfully. Team work is very important in an institution. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Throughout being a nurse, I learned to be compassionate and kind to the needy. i realized that those poor who need urgent care for their illness cannot make provide their medications. So, when the rich patients donate their left-over medicines when they get discharged, I give those m=stuff the the needy ones. What unique skills do you have? I am talented and energetic. I have been requested to conduct lectures in our institution. Also, I'a a good patient advocate. I immediately attend the patient's needs and relay their concerns to the doctors. In times that my colleagues need my my help in inserting intravenous catheters to adult, child, and pediatric patients, I don't refuse to take over. I also compose scripts/comical skit and direct a team for any competition, and aside from that, I choreograph a dance and even participate in contests. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Becoming a public school nurse is what I really dream of. Someday, I will be a good mother and wife. I wish to work at daytime and spend the rest of the day with my family.
