I am writing in response to the position at Optimum Source Inc., for a Business Development Manager.I just retired as Founder and CEO of the Wall Street Investment firm, Kirk Capital Management, Inc.
Managing a Wall Street Investment firm required a well rounded balance as I dealt with hundreds of investment managers, clients from numerous backgrounds, and the unknowns of the Stock Market.
That along with the everyday functions that go along with a CEO position are where time management becomes a paramount everyday function.
Structuring each day to include meetings with department heads and investment staff actually consumed less time than one might imagine. I found that keeping my company technologically savvy created an excellent accounting of how all staff spent their time. Therefore, I devoted a great deal of time perfecting operations, especially where there was overlap within departments.
There are varying interaction points in most companies and functional systems that link each department’s defining data are now available, and becoming ever so necessary.
Over the past five years I found that I was able to re-structure, upgrade and improve many of the functions that linked the most vital interactive departments within my firm.
This included upgrades and enhancements in technology linking data from HR, Sales, IT, Training and Compliance departments.
I was extremely hands on in this area of technology; desiring to oversee all training and application functionality.
New technologies also enabled me to stream line the overall operational processes and procedures, providing a great deal more specificity within HR data, daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting, and its confidentiality.
As I am too young to retire for good, I am searching for an opportunity to share my skills and experience within a different industry, yet one that would continue to provide the personal rewards one receives from playing a part in success.
Many of the other functions of my previous position were second nature for me as Business Development skills, techniques and experience become quite polished over time. I enjoyed keeping Business Development up to date technologically.
Operations, HR and IT department functions have been an integral part of my past.
Please let me know if I can provide additional information, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Brian Kirk
