home-based job

What type of job are you looking for?

I have two kids and I can't work away from home. I am currently seeking for home-based job either as a call center agent,a researcher or a data encoder/typist. I am planning to work full time, however, part time job could also be considered as of the moment.

What nationality are you?

I am a Filipino. I am currently residing in Alitagtag, Batangas, Philippines.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I can speak English and Filipino fluently.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I can't work away from home as of the moment, hence, I would really grab the opportunity to work at home here in the Philippines.

What countries have you worked in?

I haven't worked out of the country yet. I have worked only in the Philippines.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

Currently, I do not have any working visa.

What field do you currently work in?

I do not work as of the moment, hence seeking for one. I have been a home-based researcher for 6 months.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have already tried working at home for almost 6 months as a researcher, though I have 6 years of experience in Convergys Alabang. I have been a Call Center Agent and Quality Evaluator for 2 years and 4 years, respectively. I have also worked as a medical transcriptionist for 8 months.

What qualifications do you hold?

I am a College graduate of a 5 year-course. I also have a vast experience when it comes to BPO jobs. As previously mentioned, I have spent 6 long years with Convergys Alabang. I have skills that have been developed over the years. In addition, I can also brag about my attitude towards work. I am a very hard-working person and I am very willing to learn. If given the chance to work with a home-based employer, I could be an asset to the company.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Though I am a Physical Therapist by profession,I would consider skills more valuable over formal education. Why? I was from medical field, however I shifted my gear to seek for a greener pasture. If I didn't have the skills, I couldn't have survived the trainings and the tough jobs I have been through. I have also tried working at home which requires not only discipline but more on skills since I had to work all by myself. Skills would be the foundation of a successful career nowadays. I would say, this could be the reason also why for most jobs, attending 2 years of College is considered fine so long as the applicants posses the skills qualifications.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others promotes camaraderie. The sense of unity and teamwork is developed overtime. The support system is very much alive.

Describe the benefits of working alone

While working with others promotes camaraderie, unity and teamwork, working alone can also provide working benefits like lack of conflict with other team members if ever disagreement occurs. One could easily decide what the best solution could be if there is no one to consult. Likewise, working alone can mean faster work output since chatting could be avoided - meaning there is focus more on the task, itself.

What was your worst working experience?

I don't wish to remorse on the previous jobs that I have been into, however, for the sake of answering this question, I could say that my latest home-based job which I have just resigned from and whose company name I don't wish to mention was the worst because of too much demands on the agents, however, pretty much underpaid. The job itself was tedious and yet, some considerations are not spared.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Patience is a virtue. This adage is quite overused, however, true in it's essence. No matter how great an employee could be, the bottom line is to really be the best in what one does and be very patient. This could be the key to a successful career.

What unique skills do you have?

I can multi-task and can type 60 wpm. I am also interested to become a data encoder if the job calls for it.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job is to experience a good working relationship with the employer and get a good compensation at the same time. I wish there is really a company who would listen to the needs of the employees and respect the individuality.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

As an employee of a BPO, most interesting aspect would be when the customers' disputes are being resolved. When I was an agent, most callers were irate at the start of the call. the most interesting part of the job would be the moment I put a smile on their faces simply because I was able to resolve their concerns. As a researcher, it would be when I could find the seemingly difficult data to gather.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I don't really consider any least interesting aspect of my field simply because, I would assume that everything is interesting. I say this because, boredom is never an option when I am working.

Are you willing to work part-time or full time?

I would really want to work on a full time, however, part-time job could be an option.
